Wood

• Source: Any tree in any biome
• Uses: Crafting base material, fuel
• Best biome: Forest, Dark Forest, Jungle

Stone / Cobblestone

• Source: Mine any stone block
• Uses: Building, tools, furnaces
• Note: Use Silk Touch to get stone instead of cobblestone

Iron

• Source: Mine iron ore (Y=15–60, peaks at Y=15 and Y=232)
• Uses: Tools, armor, rails, mechanisms
• Most important early material

Coal

• Source: Mine coal ore (found everywhere Y=0–320)
• Uses: Torches, fuel, fire charges

Gold

• Source: Mine gold ore (Y=-64 to 32; best in Badlands at Y=32)
• Uses: Golden tools (fast but fragile), trading with Piglins, powered rails

Redstone

• Source: Mine redstone ore (Y=-64 to 16; peaks at Y=-58)
• Uses: Wiring, mechanisms, potions

Lapis Lazuli

• Source: Mine lapis ore (Y=-64 to 64; peaks at Y=0)
• Uses: Enchanting cost, blue dye

Diamond

• Source: Mine diamond ore (Y=-64 to 16; peaks at Y=-58)
• Uses: Best pre-netherite tools and armor
• Tip: Use Fortune III pickaxe for 2–4× drops

Obsidian

• Source: Water flowing over lava source block
• Uses: Nether Portal, enchanting table, beacon
• Note: Requires diamond pickaxe or better to mine

Netherite

• Source: Ancient Debris (Nether Y=8–22) → smelt → 4 scrap + 4 gold = 1 ingot
• Uses: Best armor and tools in game
• Very rare: 1–5 ancient debris per chunk

String

• Source: Spider drops, cobweb (Silk Touch)
• Uses: Bows, fishing rods, wool crafting

Leather

• Source: Cow/horse drops
• Uses: Leather armor, books, item frames

Wool

• Source: Sheep (shear with shears for more)
• Uses: Beds, carpets, banners

Prismarine

• Source: Ocean Monument
• Uses: High-end decoration building
