Minecraft Village Guide — Trading, Iron Golems, and Village Defense

Finding Villages

Villages spawn in: Plains, Desert, Savanna, Taiga, Snowy Plains, Meadow biomes.

Fastest method: Use the /locate structure village command (or throw Eyes of Ender — they point toward strongholds, not villages).

Natural method: Explore plains and savanna biomes — most common village spawns.

Villager Trades

Villagers have professions determined by their job site block. Best trades unlock at higher "trade level" (trade with them repeatedly).

Best Early Trades

Emerald Farming

Fastest method:

1. Find Farmer villager
2. Grow wheat and carrots
3. Trade 20 wheat = 1 emerald repeatedly
4. 1 large farm = 50+ emeralds per harvest

Iron Golem Farms

Iron Golems spawn in villages with 10+ villagers and 20+ beds. They drop 3–5 iron ingots when killed.

Natural golems: Defend the village — don't kill them (lowers reputation)

Farm setup: Trap golems in a killing chamber connected to the village center. 40–80 iron/hour.

Curing Zombie Villagers

Zombie Villagers = discounted trading. Convert them back:

1. Trap Zombie Villager (don't let them die)
2. Throw Weakness Splash Potion at them
3. Feed them a Golden Apple
4. Wait 2–5 minutes — they convert back
5. They now offer deeply discounted trades (1 emerald for items usually costing 20+)

Village Defense

Villages get raided by Pillagers. You get a Bad Omen effect when you kill a Pillager captain (banner on head).

Raid defense:

• Build walls around village
• Place iron golems strategically
• Light up the area
• Kill all raiding mobs across 5 waves

Raid reward: Hero of the Village effect → massive discounts from all villagers.
