Why Farm?
Early game, you rely on looted food. Mid-game, farming provides infinite food without dangerous looting runs.
Starting a Farm
Requirements
- Seeds (find in POIs or buy from Trader Hugh)
- Farming Plot block (crafted from: 3 Wood + 3 Rotting Flesh + 3 Dirt)
- Water (within 3 blocks — player-placed water or rain collector)
- Light (natural or artificial)
Basic Setup
- Craft Farming Plots (4×8 minimum)
- Place adjacent to a water source
- Plant seeds
- Wait ~1 game day per crop type
Crops and Yields

Water System
Plants need water within 3 blocks. Options:
Simple: Dig a 1-block channel, fill with water bucket. Water blocks stay permanent.
Automatic: Build a Rain Collector (advanced crafting). Fills with water automatically.
Harvest Strategy
- Always save 1 seed per crop harvested for replanting
- Harvest when 100% grown for maximum yield
- Over-plant by 30% to account for possible trampling
