7 Days to Die Trader Guide — Quests, Buying, and Duke Coins

What is the Trader?

Traders are NPC merchants found in protected compounds. They offer:

• Buy and sell goods
• Daily restocked inventory
• Quest missions for rewards

Traders are protected zones — zombies won't enter, making them safe havens.

Trader Types

Find different traders spread across the map. All have quests.

Duke Coins (Currency)

Duke Coins are the trader currency:

• Earn from: selling items, completing quests, looting
• Spend on: trader inventory, skill books, vehicles, supplies

Best sales: Sell excess loot (electronics, weapon parts) for good coin income.

Trader Quests

Complete quests to:

• Earn Duke Coins
• Raise Trader Tier (unlocks better quest rewards)
• Receive tier-appropriate loot bags

Quest Types

Tier Progression

T1	Common items, ~300 coins
T2	Uncommon, ~600 coins
T3	Rare, ~1,000 coins + vehicle parts
T4	Epic, ~1,500 coins + rare weapons
T5	Legendary, premium rewards

Daily Restocks

Trader inventory restocks every in-game morning. Check daily for:

• Vehicles (bicycle, minibike) — buy early, game-changing for mobility
• Skill books — faster than looting
• Ammo — supplement your crafting
• Meds — if you can't craft yet

Selling Tips

• Never sell skill books you haven't read
• Sell vehicle parts you can't use yet (high coin value)
• Sell excess food when overflowing
• Guns above your skill level can be sold for good value
