7 Days to Die Vehicle Guide — Bicycles, Motorcycles, and 4x4 Trucks

Why Vehicles?

The map in 7 Days to Die is huge (6km × 6km on default). Without a vehicle, traveling takes forever. A bicycle unlocked on Day 5 cuts exploration time by 4×.

Vehicle Progression

Bicycle (Day 3–5)

• Speed: Moderate
• Storage: 15 slots
• Craft requirements: Handlebars, Bicycle Frame, Wheels, Seat
• Notes: No fuel, pedal-powered. Fastest to obtain.

Minibike (Day 5–8)

• Speed: Fast
• Storage: 27 slots
• Fuel: Gas Can
• Craft: Engine + Minibike Frame + Chassis + Wheels + Handlebars
• Notes: Game-changer. First motorized vehicle.

Motorcycle (Day 10–15)

• Speed: Very Fast
• Storage: 45 slots
• Fuel: Gas Can
• Craft: Requires more complex parts

4×4 Truck (Day 15–20+)

• Speed: Fast with high durability
• Storage: 81 slots
• Passengers: Up to 2 (driver + 1)
• Fuel: Gas Can
• Notes: Best all-around vehicle. Smashes through zombie hordes.

Gyrocopter (Late Game)

• Speed: Very Fast
• Storage: 27 slots
• Fuel: Gas Can
• Special: Flies — ignore terrain and zombies entirely
• Notes: Most expensive to craft; requires advanced parts

Finding Vehicle Parts

Parts are scattered across the map:

• Engine: Found in cars, garages, auto shops
• Wheels: Junkyards, garages
• Frames: Trader (purchase or quest reward)
• Batteries: Hardware stores, cars

Tip: The Trader sells vehicles directly at Tier 1–2 for ~500–1,500 coins. Fastest way to get a bicycle/minibike early.

Fuel

All motorized vehicles need Gas (Gasoline):

• Craft: Oil Shale + Cooking Station (basic) or Chemistry Station (more efficient)
• Loot: Gas Pumps, garages, cars
• Burn rate: Motorcycle is most efficient; 4×4 burns faster

Storage and Hauling

Vehicles are also moving storage containers:

• Park at a POI, dump excess loot in vehicle inventory
• Return home, offload — no carry weight issues for vehicle storage
